According to the“Food Safety Principle“, the marketing of “unsafe” foods is prohibited, and companies are obliged to warn of the possible presence of trace amounts of such allergens on product labeling.

It is easy to avoid whole or visible nuts, but there are also many food preparations containing these nuts. In order to avoid these foods, it is very important to keep the product label in mind.

Many labels already indicate whether the product has been produced in a place that processes nuts or may contain traces of nuts. So stay tuned!

Nuts and dried fruits are mandatory labeling foods according to current European regulations.

Mandatory label content:

  • Sales denomination.
  • List of ingredients.
  • Percentage amount.
  • Net amount.
  • Date of minimum duration.
  • Special conditions of conversation and use.
  • Name or company name and address of the manufacturer or packer.
  • Instructions for use.
